Terms & Conditions
Sing and Sign Terms and Conditions
Classes are booked and paid for in advance for the full term. I am unable to accept bookings for part of a term unless you are joining us part way through a term where the term fees will be charged pro rata. Term dates are on the Ealing page of the Sing and Sign website
https://www.singandsign.co.uk/classes/classes-near-you/ealing
If for any reason I am unable to run the class (e.g. because of illness/local lockdown etc) then the class will be re-scheduled. I will add another class at half term, over a weekend or the end of term. If it is not possible to reschedule to a later date then you will be offered a credit towards your next term.
Booking system
The current term’s Stage One participants are offered seven days exclusive right to renew for the next term of classes. After this, remaining places are available to current Stage Two babies, and the families on our waiting list.
Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. To secure a place in a class, please place your provisional booking online and pay the class fee within seven days. I cannot guarantee your place until payment has been received.
Once the place is secured I will e-mail you to confirm your place.
Special Circumstances
In the extreme event of a disruption to the live class schedule (weather, pandemics etc) we wish to ensure that you and your baby do not miss out. Consequently, all Stage 1s and Stage 2s will receive the 'Sing and Sign at Home' streamed class resource (usually £50) as a complimentary benefit. So you can book your place on our courses, safe in the knowledge that any unwelcome disruption to those scheduled will not disadvantage and deprive your baby of their fun and their learning.
Parents are to strictly observe Government guidelines on infectious diseases such as coronavirus, flu, Ebola, etc.. If you have travelled to an affected country you are required to observe the quarantine procedures without exception.
Refunds policy
Refunds are available if you withdraw from class in the following cases:
- If you inform me by phone or by e-mail to ealing@singandsign.co.uk after your first class, but before your second. In that circumstance, I will offer a refund for the remainder of term, minus the fee for the class you have attended and a £10 administrative fee if you are Stage 1 and £20 if you are in Stage 2.
- After the first week, it will not be possible to offer a refund for the remainder of term.
- If you withdraw from classes before the term has started, I will refund you, less a £5 administrative fee,
- If I have to cancel a class and you are unable to attend the replacement class, I will refund that week’s live portion of the fee, calculated as Total term cost - @Home cost = weekly live cost / 10 (see above).
- BOOKINGS MADE VIA PEBBLE, using LITTLE STARTS GIFT CARDS AND / OR USING A DISCOUNT CODE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.
Special considerations due to COVID 19
- If you are unable to attend due to illness (including suspected Covid-19, or being asked to self-isolate by NHS Test & Trace) you can enjoy S&S@Home and will not be refunded for missed classes in your venue
- If your class is cancelled due to local lockdown (or similar situation beyond our control) and up to 2 classes missed then everyone watches S&S@Home instead. No refund is applicable.
- If there is a longer lockdown or further disruption to the course and it becomes necessary to cancel more than two classes of the course, your teacher will launch face to face classes over Zoom. Your teacher will make all efforts to run this Zoom class on your usual class day, although in some circumstances this may not be possible and flexibility might be needed. If your teacher is unable to run Zoom sessions, she will endeavour to arrange them through another Sing and Sign teacher wherever possible.
- If no Zoom class provision can be made, a refund will be offered for the live class portion of your course fee for any sessions missed above and beyond the two classes described in the previous bullet point. You may instead defer this amount to be a discount on next term's course, or an item from the Sing and Sign shop, at your teacher's discretion.
Attending classes
I offer flexible courses, so if you are unable to attend your booked class on a once off or on a regular basis, please talk to me about it. It may be possible for you to visit a different class, or to transfer to a different class. However, please consult me before doing so as Sing and Sign has strict limits on the numbers allowed in classes.
Can I carry over money from missed classes to the next term?
Sorry, you can’t do this. There is a lot of repetition from week to week as well as the online resources, so if you miss a week for any reason, you’ll soon be able to catch up.
Can I bring a friend and their baby to class as a trial?
Please do not bring friends along to class unannounced. It may be possible to accommodate a friend and their baby, if there are still spare places in the class, but I do not guarantee this. I also charge for trial classes as I don't believe it is fair for someone to have a 'free' class whilst others have booked and paid their fees for the term.
During COVID restrictions I ask that the same parent / carer brings baby each week to ensure the class forms a social bubble.
I do not often offer free trial classes during term time, because it may be seen as discourteous and disruptive to the parents who have committed to the full term of classes. I often run free “taster” sessions as extra classes outside of term time. so there are plenty of opportunities for people to “try before they buy”.
I do welcome other family members as visitors in classes. Grandparents, partners etc. Please ask BEFORE you bring family members with you – some of the venues are quite small and can easily become uncomfortably overcrowded if everyone decides to bring a family member with them each week.
Make up Sessions
I offer free make up sessions throughout term. If you find you cant make your regular class, do let me know and I will offer you the next available one that week.
- Make up sessions are not transferable to friends etc.
- Make up sessions must be taken within the relevant term.
Older siblings
If your baby's sibling is 3 years or older, you may bring him/her to class on special occasions. Your teacher will do her best to involve them in the class proceedings. Please note that they remain your responsibility at all times and parents must be alert to their children’s behaviour and safety, especially in terms of the younger babies. Please try not to bring a toddler aged 2 years old however, as disruption to the rest of the class is likely, however well behaved they are!
If you are regularly bringing someone else’s baby or are a child-minder bringing more than one child (who are not siblings) then you will have to pay for each place.
Children’s behaviour in class
I hope your baby will enjoy class and be thoroughly engaged with the teacher and the other children. We encourage babies to crawl or walk about and interact, they are not required to sit still. Problems with behaviour are very rare, but of course can happen occasionally. If a baby hits, bites or throws toys the parent should remove their child from the class circle to avoid further disruption and in exceptional circumstances a refund may be offered for the remainder of term at the teacher's discretion.
Complaints procedure
I really hope that you will be delighted with your experience of Sing and Sign classes. I am absolutely committed to you finding that your class meets and exceeds your expectations and that you enjoy your classes enough to recommend Sing and Sign to all of your friends!
However, sometimes things might go wrong and I would like to hear about it. Please do get in touch if you have a complaint or concern (or compliment!). I will always do my best to resolve any problems as quickly as possible and to everyone’s satisfaction. If there is any aspect of the course/classes that you are unsure about, please don’t be too shy to ask!
